Paid parking in Debrecen is managed by the city through a zone-based system in the downtown area and around major attractions. The system is simpler than Budapest’s, with clear signage marking paid zones.
Parking Zones
Debrecen uses a straightforward parking zone system:
- Zone A (Red): City center, highest rates, maximum 2-3 hour stay
- Zone B (Yellow): Extended downtown area, medium rates, longer stay allowed
- Zone C (Green): Outer central areas, lower rates, residential priority
Zone boundaries and rates are clearly marked on street signs.
Payment Methods
Pay for parking through:
- Parkl app (recommended) — official mobile app for easy payment
- SMS — Text to the number shown on zone signs
- Parking meters — Located throughout paid zones, accept coins and cards
- Residential permits — Annual permits available for residents in paid zones
Operating Hours
Standard paid parking hours:
- Monday-Friday: 8:00 - 18:00
- Saturday: 8:00 - 13:00
